Rate My New Build started with my father. His new-build home was the reward for a lifetime of hard work — but it was full of problems, and putting them right became a battle our family is still living with.

It isn’t anti-builder — the best ones take real pride and deserve to stand out from the few who don’t. You can read a thousand reviews for a £10 gadget, but for the biggest purchase of your life, all you get is glossy brochures. We’re here to change that — fairly, for everyone.

Your questions, answered

The things every reviewer wants to know first.

It sounds like a contradiction, but think of voting at a polling station: you show ID to prove you’re a real voter, but no one ever sees how you voted. Same here — you prove to us privately that you’re a real resident (that’s the “verified” part), then your review is published with your identity stripped out, shown only as “Verified resident, [county].” So we know you’re genuine; the public and the builder never know it’s you. Verified to us, anonymous to everyone else.
